The Basics of Singing - Sunday 28th April
So, here it is - my Singing Workshop!
After last year's Basics of Singing Workshop, many of you asked Steph and I when we were dong another!!
I know there are lots of you lovely newer singers who would like to learn more about how to use your voices, and many of you who attended the last one have said they would like a reminder!!
This workshop is for anyone who would like to improve their singing, and learn lots of tips and techniques and how to get the best out of it!
The fact is that the more knowledge you have about how your voice works, the more you'll enjoy singing in choir! This is a practical workshop giving you a chance to explore your voice and learn lots about the basics of good singing technique.
Who is it for:
Anyone who wants to find out how to improve their singing! 😊 Whether you’re a singing newbie, or even if you’ve been singing for years but haven’t really had any training, my workshop will help you to build some vocal foundations, which will make singing a bit easier, so you'll be able to sing with more confidence and joy!
What will Happen on the day:
This is a group session, so no-one will have to sing on their own, and Steph and I will make sure that it is a safe space where you can feel confident to explore your voice - after all, you're all in the same boat, and we will look after you!
After warming up, this is what to expect from the afternoon:
- You’ll learn lots about how your voice and support system works
- You’ll be putting it all into practice with singing exercises and songs!
- We’ll be working on breath, flow, tone, range and freeing your natural voice
- We’ll be addressing singing problems such as: tuning, pitch, limited range, running out of breath, a ‘tight’ voice, and the change of vocal register!
- There’ll be a Q&A at the end where Steph and I will solve any problems we haven’t covered in the session!
When you get those basics right, you’ll find you can sing more freely, you’ll sound better, it will feel easier and you’ll enjoy your singing even more!!
